A story about me

You all are in some self-perpetuating feedback loop of confusion. I’m just a guy. Albeit, I am a guy who’s been made very happy by these really nice things y’all have said, but still, a happy guy is just a guy.

But, caq, speed, chewy/curl, marmotry—thank you for the heartwarming.

Group hug?

A marmot with humility

Now that, my dear rodent-like friend, is just crazy talk.

You are charming, charismatic, adorable, fuzzy in all the right ways, and your inflated ego looks oh-so-good on you.

Don’t you go changing, and if any sitio-arisma rubs off on you, well, first of all, excuse me, you are so soft, but also, wash it off—it won’t do you any good as you’re just perfect the way you are.

[edit: s/infated/inflated/—that’s a funny typo, though—I laugh at myself now… hahahaha. Hmmm.]

I'm in!

(For the hug)

Self-perpetuating feedback loop…I’m confused. Is that programmerspeak? :D

You’re “just a guy” with some depth, honesty, and good values. I enjoy hearing your thoughts. I’m glad when you are well and happy.

One of the things I like best about 43T is how often I’m able to get to know people in a more real way than people I know in real life, because people here talk about what really matters to them & reflect about things. In my daily life, even when I’ve known someone a long time, it is rare that we have that kind of exchange. You’re one of the people who makes posts that stagger me with humor or insight.

And this response is exactly the opposite of what your humble post was hoping to achieve, so I will stop here!

Well... darnit

You’re one of the people who makes posts that stagger me with humor or insight.

All this time I’ve been trying to stagger with humorous insight… or is it insightful humor? And here I find my posts do only one or the other. I’m clearly going to have to try harder.

As for your own insight—it seems to me that this site has captured some sort of context that brings that out in people.

Do you think that this site is the equivalent of the “conversation with a stranger (usually on a plane)”? You can be randomly seated next to somebody and have the most astounding conversation. And you know what? I think that almost any two people, under some not-so-difficult to produce conditions, could have that astounding conversation.

We all have overcome great obstacles, have struggled, have lost, have won, have had victories and failures and success and defeat and laughter and tears. We have all had our hearts broken and torn out of our chests and had our hearts burst from fear and love. We have all felt joy, and laughed till our sides ached. Each of us has gotten here on a path that none of us could ever fully understand, yet every single one of us has travelled on our own.

Is it any wonder we have something to talk about?

poetic

That was a very poetic response, sitio.

Yes! That was another point I failed to make: That there is this depth in all people. 43T is really making me look at all people differently. I now realize more clearly how much more there is to people than I suspect, and how much more I could probably talk with them about, because of my experience on 43T.

(It’s just easier to do here because the 2 people don’t have to have a free moment at the same time. I can read something while I’m on hold, then respond while I’m waiting for something to upload.)

sitio has gotten 4 cheers on this entry.
